| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I had planned to park at the Prospect Road Park Entrance but when I got there first thing in the morning, the area was roped off and the dirt parking lot was being graded. Eventually, I found a 2-car pulloff on Tucker Road in Andover that was not chained off (note: all along Tucker Road there are signs prohibiting roadside parking) near the "5 corners" area which was also near the Bay Circuit Trail. Turns out, there are some really neat fields being managed by the Trustees of the Reservation there. |

Excellent morning to explore this area a little further and trail run. I was really happy to see the Boston Hill (former) ski area being managed (by NEMBA) for recreation. While fairly grown-in, the ski slopes showed some evidence of clearing and did still look skiable in spots. There is public (free) parking at the Brightview Senior Living Facility on Route 114 and a trailhead kiosk with interesting info and pictures about the ski area and the Radar Station on the summit. Pretty fun place to explore and some excellent views from both summits. Some fun ski area relics too! Though the base area is now taken over by the senior living facility, there are still plenty of history to poke around!!! :) |
