Parking/Access Road Notes: Trailhead parking lot off Rte 119 is relatively small considering the popularity of the place; plenty of overflow on the shoulder of Rte 119

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes: Passable via rock hopping.

Trail Maintenance Notes: Caution: Both Wapack Trail and Midstate Trail are wet/frozen in isolated areas. No blowdowns.

Dog-Related Notes: Lots of dogs; very friendly and well-behaved.

Lost and Found: Blue plaid shirt on Midstate Trail just south of MA/NH border. (hanging on tree branch) 
 
Comments
Comments: It was a great morning on Mount Watatic. Unlimited views from the summit and it's good to see hikers and bikers going out and getting some fresh air. However, I wish "trail etiquette" was more commonly understood by casual hikers. E.g. - there's enough mountain for everybody...give each hiker some space on the trail. If you're closing in on someone uphill, slow down or take a break, if they don't do so first. It's not a race, the mountain isn't going anywhere. Just a pet peeve of mine. All in all, a wonderful day hike. Check out the video link below to see for yourself.
