Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easily hoppable today.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of old (rotten) stepover blowdowns, and more than a few sections of boot sucking mud, trails in decent shape otherwise.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a woman early in the day that took her husky up and back to West Peak, the dog was doing well considering it was her first hike since hip surgery! Late in the day, we ran into two very late AT thru hikers, one with the tiniest dog I've ever seen on a trail before. That little maybe foot and a half long hot dog made it all the way from Georgia!
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A somewhat colorful knee high rain boot leaning against a log, just off the shelter access trail.

Comments
Comments: Trails were very wet, and very muddy in spots. Ledges on East Baldpate were thankfully dry due to the wind. A cold, very windy day to be up high. Old Speck stayed just in the clouds most of the day, though appeared to be out by the time we reached the trailhead. Got a good view out to Elephant Mountain, one of my NE100 targets. Here's to #62!
