Comments
Comments: Decided to finish our last NEHH in Baxter this weekend. Tried to do these with North Brother and Fort loop last year, but was too tired from Hamlin the day before. The Coe slide was all they said it would be. A solid slab at very steep angle with not a lot of blazes. But you pop out at the top. My GPS indicated that we had missed the OJI cutoff, it was actually .1 mile farther than we thought. The trail over to the South Brother spur after it dropped from Coe was nice. Strangely about a mile from Coe there is a sign on the trail indicating South Brother but it is really about 0.1 mile farther. The South Brother spur is 0.3 mile of tough trail, many large boulders and tough foot placement. Great views 360 degree from both summits.
