We headed back the same way to the East Royce Trail, then head up to the summit of East Royce Mountain in Maine. Once we reached the open ledges we realized that was not the summit. The summit is actually another .11 further on a defined, but unblazed trail. There are no cairns either. And the summit is viewless.
