Baxter Park is open for camping as of May 15th. The park tote road is open to Foster Field and Roaring Brook in the south. The remainder of the roads will open as they dry up. A 2 day worktrip to volunteer in BSP as well as on the A.T. Cleared blowdowns on 12 miles of the A.T. in BSP from the park boundary near Abol Bridge to treeline on Katahdin. The trails to Katahdin are still closed as there is still a lot of snow and ice below treeline. It may be another week until the trails are opened. A great 2 day trip, weather was very good and had a great campsite. |
