Turn left onto Wiggle Pond Rd (clearly signed). Follow Wiggle Brook Rd 3.4 miles to a jct with Bear Brook Rd. | Comments: |
From Wiggle Brook Rd we followed the old logging road for about 3/4 of a mile to a jct, turning left onto another logging road, which we followed for about a quarter mile. Here we missed the cairn marking the herd path straight ahead and instead turned left following another logging road. This led thru a very wet section before climbing the ridge thru a thick collar of young spruce on the other side of which we picked up the herd path to the top. On the descent we lost the herd path about the same point we picked it up on the ascent but stayed more south of our ascent route and were able to pick it up again lower down which brought us out right at the cairn and arrow we'd missed on the way up not 20 feet from where we'd made the wrong turn! |
