| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The road to the trailhead was in okay shape. We were in a Toyota 4Runner which moved over the potholes and rough gravel nicely. A lower clearance vehicle could make it, but slowly and with much maneuvering. We saw a Honda Accord and a Volkswagen in the "lot" and the owners we passed said it was a little rough. The first bridge over Rapid Stream has been replaced, but the second was not complete. Park before the first bridge. |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
There are a few water crossings, most easy because of the dry conditions. We had to get a bit creative and walk up the stream a bit to get across the Rapid Stream by rock hopping with poles. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There were a few blowdowns across the trail that look like they have been there for a while based on the worn trail around them. |

This was a great hike. Nice forests on the way up and a steep climb for the last mile before you get above treeline. Well worth the hike. We had a great bluebird day with views of the Presidentials, Saddleback, Sugarloaf, the Crockers, Bigelows and beyond. |
