| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Drove to the winter trailhead (just after the bridges) in a Prius yesterday (VERY VERY cautiously), but didn't dare try again today with the snow. Made it to the summer trailhead in a F150 easily (though there are some branches that may scratch the vehicle) |

Awesome bonus of being able to get to the summer trailhead. Most of the trail down low was still wet (the ground still isn't frozen). Maybe 3" of snow along the entire trail. At low elevations all the streams are running, and there is a lot of mud hidden under the snow. After the campsite, the snow continues, and the ice increases. The hard water ice under the snow can make for difficult footing at times. One in our party briefly switched to crampons, but microspikes were the way to go. I would not recommend bringing snowshoes until we get some more snow (i.e. Tuesday) |
