| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Another cluster of a drive between trailheads. So from the end of the pavement in Kokadjo, bear left again, then at the junction of Spencer Bay Road, bear right. Resist the temptation to follow the road right where there is a sign for Public Reserved Lands... this will lead you a long way away to the Nahmakanta Public Reserved Land (which happened to me)... keep going straight. The road on either side of the Sias Hill checkpoint is in pretty rough shape. Directions found online will get you there if you remember these bits). |

Good shape overall, another unmarked trail, but easy to follow. A few stepovers and a duck under below the former cabin site, and a few duck unders above it. |

Out in force, couldn't move quickly enough. A breeze on the summit kept them mildly at bay. |

Another road fiasco, but another great peak. Big Spencer at least gives you a warm-up, before throwing the elevation at you. Great views and a picnic table (and privy) at the former wardens cabin site. The trail above is just plain steep, with some ladders to get you up tricky rock scrambles. One patch of ice in a shady northeast facing section in the sag just below the tower. No traction necessary. Excellent views from the tower site and ledges surrounding it... though the equipment, buildings, and burnt forest around them is pretty unsightly. A shame indeed. |
