Did this hike expecting to get wet, hoping to get some views. Summit conditions (tower) cloudy, wind steady at 15-20 with gusts. Temp upper 50's. Clouds in the notch obscured views below. Windswept clouds at summit height obscured long views except occasional breaks between clouds. Descent accompanied by thunder, but rain held off until we were back at the trailhead. Lot of work for less than spectacular visibility. Good thing we enjoyed the company and being out in the woods. |
