Comments
Comments: Abol, Baxter Peak Cutoff, Saddle Trail, NW Basin Trail, Hamlin Ridge Trail, reversed over to Baxter Peak, then took Hunt to Abol

Awesome day. Higher weather report called for obscured summits, wind up to 85mph gusts and wind chill at 3 degrees over 5,000 ft. A lot of people were turned around because they did not come prepared. Ended up skipping Baxter Peak on my way up since it was supposed to clear out a bit in the afternoon. Made my way over to Hamlin Peak where I met a german speaking service dog. Made my way back over to Baxter just in time for the sun. Hoar frost sticking to knifes edge was amazing. Views were moving after a day of high winds, some driving snow, and winter conditions for Sept. New Abol trail is fantastic. Adds over a mile to the old mileage but its a lot of switchbacks and stairs. Very well made trail.
