We did a loop, parking at the Ledges Trail traihead, roadwalking the 1.5 miles to the Bald Peak Trail, and then up that and across to the main summit, before heading down the Ledges Trail to the car. Lovely hike, and the road walk is pretty quick and smooth. Nice fall colors along the way.
We had not been up these trails for a couple of years, and the changes since then are significant: some serious trail work on the Bald Peak Trail -- relocations and rock work to mitigate eroded sections and slippery-when-wet sections -- and the addition of the parking area for that trail.
Some fine, fine work done -- impressive. We've always enjoyed the Bald Peak Trail, but it's even that more enjoyable, now. |
