Since I had been denied a sunset here Friday night due to the weather, I decided to give it another go on the drive back tonight.
The access road from the south is posted No Trespassing with another sign that says access is granted with permission (active quarry operation with potential blasting).
Gated paved access road had been plowed/sanded since my Friday night visit; that storm had resulted in an inch or so of snow. About 1.35 miles from the gate to the summit. Saw footprints from other hikers. Fantastic 360 degree views (including Sebago Lake and the White Mountains) and a nice sunset over the Ossipees. |
