Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Several small crossings on upper section of Cameron Mtn trail past the summit all easy rock hops
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The .8 miles of the Cameron Mtn trail past the summit and before the sky blue junction could use a little TLC, a number of blowdowns - all stepovers with stretches where water runs down the trail and mud leading to people widening the trail bed. Two step overs on the sky blue trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Really easy trail for the canines; park rules do require dogs be on a leash.
Bugs
Bugs: Yes, the black flies are officially here! Bug spray was definitely needed.

Comments
Comments: Cameron Mountain in Camden Hills State Park; trailhead is located in Lincolnville. An easy loop of just over 6 miles. The approach to Cameron Mountain on multi-use and first half of Cameron Mtn trails is all basically on dirt roads rather than trails. Summit is reached by a short spur (sign but it is obvious); the summit is wide open with 360 degree views. Past the summit where the Cameron Mountain trail turns left onto an old logging road there are numerous blowdowns to step over, stretches of running water and quite a bit of mud which is causing people to walk outside the trail bed. The Sky Blue trail was completely dry and is a nice woods walk that goes up and down a series of bumps and though a nice stretch of pine. For those going to Camden Hills, Cameron Mountain is definitely worth a visit.
