|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Goose Eye Mountain, ME|
||Goose Eye Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Wednesday, January 10, 2018|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Success Pond Rd was sloppy, it would be good to have all wheel drive. |
||Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||Mostly good, take caution at the second brook as we broke through. Also broke through one of the little dips in the trail. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Cut out one small pesky blowdown. |
|Lost and Found:
||Thanks to bikehikeskifish for breaking trail. |
After the freshly cut small blowdown, the trail was blown in and we floundered around a bit. Follow our trail to the left or if our trail is gone, look to the left. We found the route to the left around the steep ledge and all 5 of us climbed to the top using snowshoes. 4 used snowshoes coming down and one used crampons. It was a stellar day.
