|Date of Hike:
||Saturday, April 21, 2018|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Snow - Spring Snow, Leaves - Significant/Slippery, Snow/Ice - Small Patches |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||The 2 crossings on Bald Peak Trail (below Sue's Way) are running pretty good - the first one you'd hit from the Bald Peak lot is passable but it's pretty high |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Saw a dog at the Firetower - they came up Bald Peak |
|Lost and Found:
||Started early, early. Didn't run into anyone until just below the Firetower - the guy with the dog. |
Up Ledges - no traction needed at all, some small patches of snow thats easily avoidable. There is very very thin ice/water patches along the way, so be a smidge wary of the damp rock.
Across the Bald Peak Trail: traction is debatable. Could go without, there were a few places it'd be a bit dicey but you'd make it.
Down Bald Peak trail back to lot: Wear traction. There were sections above Sue's Way that were rough even with traction (also figured out that the heel on one side had slid over...) Last 0.3mi of the trail, you wouldn't need traction at all.
