Comments
Comments: Unlike Mt. Pisgah on the other side of Lake Androscoggin, we had this short hike to ourselves. The blazing has changed since the description in the latest (10th) Ed. of the AMC Maine Guide. The loop trail to the summit is blazed entirely in red. A short blue-blazed connector joins the two sides of the loop about halfway up.

The highlight is a Civil War monument in the middle of nowhere, you might say, erected by Leeds native son Gen. O.O. Howard, of Civil War and Howard University fame.

The AMC Guide speaks of summit views east but the only ledges we found looked west.
