| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Ugh! The worst! When you turn off 16, at the immediate “T†after the bridge, the road to the right presents three terrible looking mud filled ditches. There was a very large 4x4 parked just beyond that, so with our bad directions, we thought we were embarking on a 2 mike road walk. Well, the road after that point is pretty good, and you know what else? From that spot, it is a 4 mile road walk, not 2. Shame on us. When we reached the parking landing, some ATV’ers were picnicking with their kids. One said, “Mommy - what are those people doing?†“Uh, hiking, I think...â€. The actual landing is just fine, with space for several cars. |

See above. This should have been a very easy hike, but due to our overly cautious nature, we made it much harder than it should have been. Pics on alltrails.com. The turnoff into the woods is hard to miss, in fact there’s a bundle of sticks blocking the trail you are on, and two cairns also indicating the left turn into the woods. The trail is marked with yellow paint splotches here and there and is also very easy to follow. Passed a few people (JustJoe) who put in a new summit register. Nothing beats freshly sharpened pencils after a disasterous hike. |
