Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: At the start of the trail, the crossing of the So. Branch River can be tricky, but hikers have place a board between a couple of boulders which served as a temporary bridge.

Dog-Related Notes: This was an 18-mile day... a long one for a pup.

Comments
Comments: Rather than an out and back along the AT, we took a herd path from the Abraham/AT junction, following it to logging roads. Turn right at every fork and junction, and this brings you back to the Caribou Valley Road. No mileage saved, but a huge time saver.
