Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The PArk was crowded on its last weekend, with the glorious sunny weather, but there was just one other car in the SLide Dam parking lot - par for the course.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None of note.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No apparent damage from Irene. The last section of the Marston Trail, to the No. Brother summit, has been eroded for years and isn't getting any better. We were able to follow the Fort herdpath all the way in both directions, unlike my '06 hike, but it is so thickly grown in, you'll get more abrasions and contusions than on many 'whacks.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No pets in Baxter SP.
Bugs
Bugs: None.

Comments
Comments: Not my favorite hike and a tiring one, but some friends really wanted to visit the Fort wreck so I obliged them. The faint herdpath to the wreck had been marked by a flag in '06, so was easy to find. That flag is gone, and we had to flounder around for 25 minutes before we found the herdpath.
