Two short sections of trail have been relocated to avoid wet areas. In other stretches of the trail the bog bridges are fine and there are nice rock stairs between Eddy Pond and the summit of Saddleback. The trails are well blazed and free of obstructions.

Comments
Comments: Saddleback and the Horn have an extensive open ridge area allowing for great views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. The trail passes by Ethel and Eddy Ponds. The trail crosses two gravel roads. The road near Eddy Pond had a jeep and ATVs (set up a campsite by the road). Both mountains have summit signs.

A helicopter flew low over The Horn when I was on top. Saw many AT thru hikers today going both north and south. Also met a group of young hikers from a camp in Belgrade Lakes ME. Met the MATC Piazza Rock caretaker on the trail.

Although this mountain is much farther north than the White Mountains it is well worth the drive.
