Comments
Comments: One of my favorite hikes. We chose Hudson Highway for ascent, a longer route than Gray Ghost but the day was hot and this trail was in the shade. Muddy in places. Tricolor gives a quick ascent to the ridge. Trail back and forth to the Horn mostly on good sticky rocky..a real pleasure and the good footing made it possible to keep and eye on the views. Hazy in the morning it seemed to thin out as the day progressed giving good views towards Carrabbassett Valley. Descended via Gray Ghost on a well defined herd path that avoids the boulder strewn old road. Great day out and a couple more Maine peaks for Valerie!!
