Comments: Day one of our 2 day Baxter blast. Marston Trail in good shape to the pond with a couple of wet spots. Stiff climb to the ridge though the trail mostly dry. Once to the ridge a nice wood walk to the Mt Coe Jct. Climb to North Brother the roughest trail section of the day with running water, mud, and heavy erosion in places. We were greeted with fine views at treeline with some ice on the rocks. trip over to Fort was quite brushy with a few rough spots. Footbed mostly obscured, some flagging of different vintage..we had no problem finding our way but glad it was dry.

Great views on Fort where Bryan grabbed his final peak for the NE100.. We lingered awhile there enjoying the time and views then mad quick work back to the Marston Jct.

Trail over to Coe in terrific shape with fine footing throughout..fantastic. we were not prepared for the majestic views from mount Coe..simply amazing and a fine destination hike.. we stayed there awhile. South Brother on the way back equally good with decent trail with some rough bouldery places. Not a bad day in baxter with a 4 and 3 100's..94, 95, 96 for me...great day on the trails with Bryan, Cynthia, and Valerie
