Hiking the Helon Taylor Trail for the first time and coming upon the view of the Knife Edge was a great perspective seeing your next hiking route. Nice meeting Mike,Dan and Christine on the Helon trail. As I ventured down the chimney slowly, since it was my first traverse, other veterans of this route went around me on both sides like spiders blazing down a wall. First time on the Knife Edge, with absolutely no wind. Cool temps and unique terrain made an unforgettable hike. Going down the Hamlin Ridge Trail was like 'knife edge 2'. Not so much a long hike (11 miles) but a rugged one. Beautiful day and hike. |
