Avoided two crossings of Beebe River on the Guinea Pond Trail via the well worn bypass route. There were no stepping stones at these crossings. The crossing of the tributary was doable on rocks |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots of water running or standing on the Mead Trail and the Guinea Pond Trail. Blazes were light and infrequent although the pathway was evident most of the way even though portions fully leaf covered. Bridge spanning river downstream from Beede Fall in Sandwich Town Park. |

| Comments: |
Great view of the Sandwich Range from summit and northeast outlook from Mt Israel. Also could see Squam and Winnipesaukee from the Wentworth Trail as most leaves were off the trees.
Much of the Mead Trail and the Guinea Pond Trail were either running or standing water but one can get by on the margins or on rocks.
The side path to Guinea Pond has a large marsh area near the start. Continue generally straight ahead where a bog bridge spans some open water. The area near the pond is swampy but the view is great. |
