Great day out in the Carter's. Not many views as we were socked in the whole time we were up on the ridge, but the snowy trees were pretty! A bit windy and cold, but a few extra layers and light gloves and hats did the trick. Trails in great shape. Just a dusting of snow above 3500' and some minor areas of ice, but no traction needed and we were able to avoid those spots. Micro-spikes at the very least will be in the bag from now on though. Some standing water on the way down, but the water bars were doing their job. Thanks to all the trailwrights for their efforts after Sandy. |
