Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Standing/Running Water on Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easy
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A handful on the western side - all easy. 3 on the eastern side. One is a tangled mess - but it is easy to "step-over" and "duck-under" - and another involves several trees where a bypass spur has been made. Most - if not all - appears to be pre-Sandy.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Easy trail for dogs - with the exception of icy sections over the ledges. Cinnilla bypassed them easily through the woods. Plenty of water in the streams at either end of the trail.

Comments
Comments: Helle, Cinnilla and I did hiked from Long Pond Road to Page Road and back.

Icy sections over the ledges - mostly on the western side. We carried micropspikes but did not use them as most of the trail is dry. The icy sections were easy to spot but if the trail gets covered with just a bit of snow the icy could yield some unpleasant surprises. Traction would be advisable.

Some mud and standing water - but it is minor.

Logging operations are in progress on the western side (no signs of activity on the eastern side). I spoke to one logger who said they were finishing up today (11-7) and would not be back until Dec. 15.
