Went in from the South end, off rte.25B. Easy grades all the way to the Webster Slide trail, then it gets a little steep for about 1/2 mile. My first time out since getting over the flu, so this was a good one to get my legs back under me. Open hardwoods all the way were very nice on this bright sunny day. Several inches of powder over a solid base. Brought snowshoes but did not need them. Light traction was good in a few spots. Views from Webster Slide are outstanding for only a 2100 foot summit. Wachipauka Pond is straight down. New boots did very well. |
