A fine large parking lot that was almost full when we returned to the car. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Ice - Blue, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The first crossing of the Brook trail required a short trip up into the woods to get across. The second crossing was easily done. The other trails had not streams. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One downed tree on the Brook trail with a herd trail around it. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
The Express and Mt. Major trail require some ledge scrambling. There was a lot of ice on the trail today but Lauky and all the other dogs I saw today seemed to be handling the ice pretty well. |

| Comments: |
The hike today with almost no snow and lots of ice was like a mid to late fall hike. The view from the summit of Major are outstanding and good from the summit of Staightback. |
