 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked at Webster Jackson lot, apparently closest legitimate parking lot. AMC Highland Center entrance starts with "no parking" signs, then has "parking for lodge guests only" sign; accompanying sign directs hikers to lot off Mt. Clinton Road. Mt. Clinton Road is blocked by large snowbank within a few feet of Route 302 - USFS parking is unplowed and inaccessible. Given the popularity of the Crawford Path, it is disappointing that the USFS does not maintain the lot for winter use. Thanks to NH DoT for their good plowing of the W-J lot - which became maxxed out today (apparently with hikers and ice climbers). |

Many bendovers, throughout the Crawford Path (i.e. low down as well as high up), as well as a few blowdowns. Signage seemed okay. |

 | Comments: |
Lots of bendovers from recent wet snows. These can be found throughout the trail, pretty much from the start - softwood boughs, softwood trees, and hardwood limbs, too. There are also a few blowdowns. Most of these obstacles can be forged through; a few require very slight detours or crawls. Snow sifting down from boughs tended toward dampness. Crawford Path above Mizpah CutOff definitely gets obscure in places (as previous poster noted). There are currently some alternate routes tracked out, which may or may not be less difficult. It seemed that at least one of the tracked routes was on the actual trail much of the time, but not all of the time. |
