| Comments: |
Blue sky spectacular day with lots of new, bright white snow. Spruce on both summits coated with dramatic rime ice. Views forever. Trail to Jackson well packed so any footgear will do. The branch to Webster and the Webster Cliff Trail had 4' deep snow with drifts and unbroken before today - now broken with at least 4 pairs of snowshoes. Do not attempt without snowshoes. Thanks to French Canadian friends we shared trail breaking which made progress easier. Beware spruce traps! Kestrel data: T = 37F, W = 22, WC = 12. |
