Comments: Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail is broken out all the way to treeline. There is a side path that heads up a gully about a mile in which goes to the right, we went left and found the blue blazes...so left at the fork. Lots of snow above treeline but it is mostly firmed up, I used MSR's the whole day. Barely any rock exposed from Lakes of the Clouds to the summit of Washington, very nice conditions. Scud clouds were skirting the upper cone of Washington after about 9-10am but cleared in the afternoon. Some weird ice and snow formations on ridge between Monroe and Eisenhower, one looked like an Olympic Halfpipe. Also, lots of those blue ice chunks embedded in the snow up there. Crawford Path is not broken out all the way to Mt. Pierce on the west side, so there is some meandering in that section but the alternative "crawford path" is well travelled now and rejoins on the descent. Below 3000' lots of snow was melting.
