Comments
Comments: Lincoln Woods Trail - still covered in snow/ice/slush. Barebootable. Black Pond Trail had a few brief bare spots, but otherwise still well endowed with spring snow. Snowshoes needed starting at Black Pond. Bushwhack beyond Black Pond goes higher than normal, but is fairly direct and avoids the mud bogs. Lincoln Brook Trail was spring snow. Brutus Bushwhack starts shortly after the third water crossing - various tracks heading up to the logging road, as well as between the switch backs above the birch glade. No sign of any traffic coming up from the slide. Route broken out from old to new summit, and just beyond the new summit to a really good, unobstructed view of the Franconia Ridge.
