Blueberry trail was very icy. Light traction was necessary almost the entire way up. However, by the descent, things were thawing out down low. Still lots of snow and ice to the top of blueberry. The trail is well marked, easy to follow, and in great shape. This is a great spot that I had never visited before. The bushwhack was straight forward. Only a few thick spots close to blueberry. It’s a simple matter of getting on the ridge and then following it to the summit of Jeffers. I did not use my snowshoes as the crust was very hard. However, I would still carry them for Jeffers because some moose postholes showed how deep the snow-pack still is (you shouldn’t need shoes for just blueberry). Several false high points had me glancing around for the canister. When I did get to the top, I found one of ED’S red ended canisters. Just Jo was the last to sign in. |
