Comments
Comments: Spring conditions on the roads but once I entered the woods it was still winter with anywhere from 1 to 4 Ft of snow. Created a plethora of post holes and found spruce traps every 5-10 steps. Glad the post hole police weren't out today! Headed almost directly South and reached the col between Kancamagus and the NW Knob. Headed E / SE to the true summit. Very enjoyable hike. Lower elevation bushwhack contained thicker spruce but not as bad as I anticipated. Upper elevations were open and relatively easy going. If we were to discuss summit canisters I would mention that the PVC canister is missing the screw base and completely empty. If there was a summit canister it would be in need of heavy repair.
