| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Easily rock hopped. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails were in good shape. One ledge coming off of Dickey had multiple cairns in different locations that could cause some confusion. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Marlie handled the ledges well. Some could be difficult for out of shape dogs. |
| Bugs: |
The black flies were out and hungry on the summits. Not bad enough to drive me away but annoying. |
| Lost and Found: |
Some more tidbits of spring trash. |

Part two of a Waterville double header. I decided to do the loop counterclockwise, partly because that is how the WMG describes it and because I figured the ledges would be wet. There were some views up the Mad River Valley and across from one peak to the next. I will definitely return on a nice day but it was nice to visit these peaks for the first time. Ledges were fun although wet. There were a couple of slick spots heading up Welch but the descent from Dickey was fine. I followed the obscure path to the northern most ledge on Dickey taking care to stay only on the rock. We saw three others heading up before reaching the ledges on Welch, then no one else until the parking lot. We spent a good half hour on Dickey in complete solitude. The rain held off the whole time!
