A blowdown leaning across the trail blocked access to the trailhead parking lot. Cars were parked along the road. We parked in the allowable parking lot on Route 2. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
The weekend storm had done a number on the trail by Sunday morning. There were plenty of branches down on the trail and leaning into and across the trail. A few blowdowns, none huge. Lots of water, leaves, and muck in the trail, in spite of all waterbars flowing freely. Up higher, slush and then packed snow. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
No lack of potable doggie water in this weather. |

| Comments: |
Most people were barebooting but a few had spikes. The trail was passable with a little extra care. Things got wetter and more slippery (and water in the trail deeper) as the day went on even though the rain stopped. My co-hiker was incompletely prepared, having a negative attitude about the wintry weather, not feeling great, and he fell with a minor injury, so we turned back. |
