Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All brooks are small on this path. Easy to cross on rocks
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail crew (probably AMC) cleared many large tree falls on the Davis Path south of Mt Isolation and south of Mt Davis. As was the case with the Rollins Trail and the Wildcat Ridge Trail there was considerable blow downs from southeast winds. Also, some older trees were cleared out on the Davis Path low on the Davis Path. There are still obstructions from trees at various points on the Davis Path especially north of Stairs Mountain. Some trimming of hobblebush and evergreen boughs is required especially on the slope heading north out of the Stairs-Davis col. Currently there is a plastic temporary sign for the Mt Isolation spur trail which faces north so it could be missed by the northbound Davis Path hiker.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw none. There was actually a lot of water on the trail today but that is not always the case.
Bugs
Bugs: None! I was pleasantly surprised.

Comments
Comments: Lots of water on the trail beyond Mt Crawford. Expect muddy and wet boots. Take care as some rocks and roots are slippery in the wet conditions. There are dry stretches in places.
Although there are still some trees across the trail all can be straddled, stepped over, or ducked under. Most have had the limbs sawed off.
Many wild flowers in bloom including Rhodora, Painted Trillium, Red Trillium, Hobblebush, and Clintonia.
Saw four hikers from SE Mass prior to Mt Crawford. Thereafter I saw nobody. The wilderness was wild today. Views to the south and east from Mt Isolation and Mt Davis but for most of the day clouds persisted from Mt Eisenhower northward.
