|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Blowdowns galore ascending South Weeks from Middle Weeks! Also, blowdowns in other spots along the Kilkenny Ridge Trail. Both trails needed brushing. There is also a VERY confusing spot in a blowdown area ascending Middle Weeks from the col with North Weeks. There are multiple herd paths that look very defined. The proper trail is the one with orange flagging behind some initial orange flagging. Look for yellow blazes quickly on whichever route you take. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
No problem, except torture from insects |
|
| Bugs: |
Unbelievable! There were mosquitoes, black flies, biting house flies, deer flies, horse flies, moose flies. Anytime we stopped, there would be hundreds of bugs attacking us and they attacked us hiking, too. This was beyond bad. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Lost quarts of blood from the bugs. Bug dope does not work on deer flies and they bit through our shirts. Black flies were very hungry, too. |

| Comments: |
Between the bugs, blowdowns, lack of views and humidity, this turned out to be a slog. See comments above about the blowdowns! It was my second time doing these peaks and hopefully my last : ) We all got good laughs out of it, though. Great hiking with Larry, Jason B and Brent. |
