| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Once over the bridge crossing the Androscoggin River in Berlin signs for ATV can be used to guide one to Success Pond Road. Success Pond Road is in good condition with a reasonable surface at 25 to 30 mph. Ignore the first Success Pond Trail large parking area as it is for ATV activity. There is a green street sign for Success Trail Head Road. Be sure to bear right at the fork in this road in order to get to the parking area. The trail sign can be seen from the large grassy parking area. |

Trails in good condition. Bog bridges span most of the wet areas on the Success Trail above the Outlook Loop. The addition of two or three more bridges or stepping stones would be beneficial. |

| Comments: |
The footing is good on the Success Trail. The upper portion of the Success Trail is a bit wet so expect muddy boots. Be sure to take the Outlook Loop as the view is great. The Mahoosuc Trail between Success Trail and Austin Brook Trail traverses rather rugged terrain. Saw either a bald eagle or osprey while ascending Mt Success.
Saw many hikers today including AT thru hikers and local hikers.
Great views from Mt Success of the Presidential Range and toward The Kilkenny peaks. The summit has a nice alpine meadow. |
