Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We had our dog with us, and were staying at a nearby inn, so we drove down North Road to the trailhead as described in the AMC White Mt. Guide. At any fork, bear L, staying along the river's edge. The road was rough, with deep puddles.. but our Honda CRV handled it well. Park opposite from the hydro plant. The trail begins .1 mile further up the road.

Comments
Comments: We had hiked Mt. Hayes a few years back from the other side, and dropped down to try to find the "view spot." Turns out we didn't drop enough.. for the view ledge (about 2440') was wide open and beautiful, and full of plump blueberries.

On the way out, took a side trip to Mascot Mine, and climbed the tailings pile to peek into the gated mine entrance. Very cool.
