| Water Crossing Notes: |
The Royce Trail's lowest two crossings of Cold River on small rocks with some under water. These crossings would be difficult during high water such as the Spring. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in good condition except bog bridges on Basin Rim Trail are deteriorating and will need to be replaced in a year or two. New bog bridges installed on the Royce Trail just uphill from the Royce Connector. The Royce Trail just below the junction with the Laughing Lion Trail is full of roots and is rocky. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Most of the circuit had plenty of water. The driest section was on Basin Rim Trail. |
| Bugs: |
Mosquitoes at lower elevations especially on the Royce Trail near the river. Black flies in some places in the higher elevations. |
