Comments
Comments: The summit fire tower is being restored. There are new wood supports and beams installed and some surfaces have been painted. According to the trailhead sign the tower may be closed on days when construction and painting activities are in progress.
The trail has a fairly constant grade for its total distance making it a pleasant climb. There were wet surfaces on much of the trail due to yesterday's rain. Even so, the footing was secure for the most part.
Great views from the tower except the Presidential Range was embedded in clouds.
