Mill Brook Rd. was dirt but no potholes, ruts, or bumps. |

Water crossings were minor and easy to negotiate. |

A few blowdowns; one was blocking the trail while another had the trail re-routed around it. |

No dogs, no people, no one except myself and the little woodland creatures that call this area home. |

No bugs; one of the best parts of this hike! |

| Comments: |
The Unknown Pond trail was muddy on the lower reaches; after that, it and the Kilkenny Ridge Trail to the Horn was wet with minor mud. The Horn was completely socked-in with whipping wind; Unknown Pond was not socked-in on the way up, but it was on the way down. The scrambles below the summit, particularly the last one, were very slippery. When I hike Cabot, I will re-visit the Horn to get the views I missed. |
