Comments
Comments: Mt. Martha, on the NHHH and 52 with a view, is such a nice hike with a rewarding payoff. One can view the summit of every peak in the Presidential range. The extra .8 mi. over to Owlshead is well worth the trip. The entrance to Martha's mile was not obvious due to leaning trees and deep snow, but trust your compass. Once past a couple of trees, you'll see signage and blazes. The first hundred yards had a lot of leaners, but then the trail takes you through open woods. The last .1 up to the summit cone of Owlshead was tricky (steep and dense) both going up and coming down... but there's no ice. (Barebooted up to the ridge; snowshoes used on the ridge and for Martha's mile.)
