Comments
Comments: The loop over Mt Cabot, The Bulge, and The Horn as well as Unknown Pond is a very nice hike. At higher elevations there is considerable leaf drop. In many places the trail was colorful from the fallen leaves. The hobblebush leaves were still nice at the higher elevations.
Muddy areas on Bunnell Notch and Unknown Pond trails could be avoided on rocks, roots, or adjacent higher ground.
The summit of Mt Cabot is marked by a summit sign stating the elevation. Neither the cabin or the cleared area of the former fire tower are the summit.
Good views toward the Mahoosuc Range from The Horn.
