Comments
Comments: It was a great day and warmer than expected. We walked up LPR a little further entering the woods at another logging road blocked by large stones. Headed in generally a northeasterly direction through open hardwoods. At about 2700' we entered the first grove of conifers and followed a well-worn herd path with lots of recent evidence (earlier this morning) of moose and deer travel. At this point we maintained a more easterly heading continuing to follow the herd only deviating from our direction by patches of blow downs that we circled until coming back to our directional goal all the way to the summit. At 3000' the patches of snow changed to 1"-3" of wet snow and the footing became slippery. Reached the summit in bright sunshine but no views to be had. We followed the same track back through the conifers and upon entering the hard wood forest we headed westerly to intersect with LPR sooner and about a mile from the car. Total track was 4.3 miles.
