Hiked up the White Dot trail, back down the White Cross. Been to Monadnock many times - it never disappoints. It is that "little mountain" with the "big mountain" feel: deciduous forrest, alpine ridge, exposed summit - all compacted into a nice little hike.
White Dot trail had very little ice - otherwise dry with the very occasional wet rock. White Cross had more sections with blue ice, but it was very avoidable.
Summit was not too crowded, as it was cold but clear. Met two really nice ladies on the summit, one of whom encouraged me to post! Thanks XCgal! |
