| Water Crossing Notes: |
water crossings on gordon pond trail were not for the faint of heart today. snow covered ice, making it very difficult to know what was slippery and would support our weight. we crossed the first stream just down from the trail crossing; there is a snowmobile bridge in the powerline cut that could be used to cross as well. there were two crossings that were very icy and if one slipped it would be a long uncomfortable drop. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
gordon pond trail was easy to follow. the section of kinsman ridge trail was pretty brushy and won't be a lot of fun this winter |

conditions were more difficult than we would have thought today. ice covered with a couple of inches of snow throughout the day. gordon pond trail had a lot more crusty ice. bryan broke thru while i skittered across the top. the wack up to wolf cub was pretty scrappy, but we could see our feet. mostly. could have been a lot worse. cool little summit. kinsman ridge trail was slow going. never knew when there was really slick ice hiding under the snow. snowed gently all day. about 2" low to around 4" high. never needed snowshoes and crampons would have been too much, but traction was really needed. another great day with bryan! |
